A man was jailed after allegedly resisting arrest in Canyonville on Thursday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said there had been a reported disturbance which led to a deputy coming to serve a restraining order just after 10:00 a.m. 65-year old Christopher Barnstable had left prior to the deputy’s arrival. He was located near the corner of First and Pine.

The report said Barnstable was served the document but threw it on the ground and started walking back towards his residence. He was advised to pick it up numerous times but did not. While attempting to arrest him for littering, he reportedly resisted.
