Atrio Health Plans has announced a donation of $10,000 to the Douglas Public Health Network’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

A release said DPHN will direct those funds to support a local initiative to create medical gowns and capes “so badly needed” by front line health care workers and by personal service workers in the community.

Atrio Health Plans President Wendy Edwards said “as COVID-19 continues to spread, we want to provide assistance to organizations serving the critical needs of those impacted”. She said they are pleased to partner with DPHN “to support this unique community initiative to keep our health care workers safe”. He said the effort will also help local businesses operate consistent with the more-strict requirements of Phase 2 reopening.

DCHN Executive Director Teresa Mutschler said they are delighted to receive the donation on behalf of the many health care workers, barbers and salons “who will directly benefit by having what they need to remain safe and resume services”.  She said it’s another great example of the community coming together “and helping each other through difficult times”.
