A transient was jailed after an incident at a store in Canyonville.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said a victim reported that she was returning cans at Ray’s Food Place when she was approached by Rhonda Wild, who she only vaguely knew. The report said store video surveillance showed the suspect lunge at the victim and grab her purse and then leave with another transient.

The report said when the suspect was contacted Saturday afternoon at around 2:00 p.m. she refused to talk with the deputy about the incident and was taken into custody. Wild was charged with third degree robbery, second degree theft and for harassment.

After arraignment, she remained detained on $10,000 bail.
