The City of Roseburg Public Works Department has begun its pavement rehabilitation project for the summer.

Communications Specialist Eric Johnson said work will take place on Northeast Winchester from Northeast Stephens to Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard and on Northeast Beulah from Northeast Central Avenue to its end.

Johnson said the work will involve a 2-inch grind and inlay on Winchester Street and a 2-inch grind inlay on Beulah Avenue. The rehabilitation work represents approximately 1.1 miles of pavement.

Contractors have also started work on ADA ramp improvements on Winchester. Work will continue through September. Completion of the pavement rehabilitation project is scheduled for mid-October.

Johnson said during the work, there will be traffic and drive time impacts. Certain sections of Northeast Winchester Street will be closed for a time while the improvements are being made. Drivers who use Winchester to commute, are advised to use other routes if possible. Johnson said drivers should use caution, watch for traffic control devices, and obey flagger commands while traveling along these routes.
