ROSEBURG CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD VIRTUAL MEETING MONDAY NIGHT

July 13, 2020 4:30 a.m.

The Roseburg City Council will meet virtually on Monday night, due to the large increase in COVID-19 cases in Douglas County and in the State of Oregon.

Councilors will consider the purchase of a new fire engine and auto extrication equipment. The pumper will replace an older model and will cost just over $600,000 while the extrication equipment is priced at $30,000.

The council will vote on directing staff to move forward with applying for a state Transportation and Growth Management grant. Notes from staff said the grant is designed around identifying bicycle routes throughout the community.

A number of other items are on the agenda as well.

Due to the meeting happening via Zoom, no public participation can take place. Residents with comments on agenda items can email them to City Recorder Amy Sowa by 4:00 p.m. Monday and they will be read aloud by Mayor Larry Rich, during the meeting.

The meeting can be viewed through the city website: https://www.cityofroseburg.org/, its Facebook page, or Charter Cable channel 191. It will begin at 7:00 p.m.
