Two people died in a single vehicle accident on Interstate Five on Sunday night.
A report from Oregon State Police said at about 8:40 p.m. OSP troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash on the freeway, two miles south of Rice Hill.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup operated by 71-year old Ruth Youngblood of Sutherlin, was southbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Youngblood sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
One male juvenile passenger sustained fatal injuries as well, and was also pronounced deceased. A second male juvenile passenger was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, with serious injuries.
OSP was assisted by several other agencies.
