A Myrtle Creek man was charged with strangulation and assault on Wednesday afternoon.

A report from Myrtle Creek Police said just after 3:00 p.m. officers responded to the 700 block of Northeast Johnson, following reports of a disturbance. After an investigation, 45-year old David Baumgaertel was arrested and taken to jail. He was also held for a parole violation, and was detained without bail.

No further information was released by MCPD.
