COVID-19 has claimed 4 more lives, with the state death toll at 224 as of Wednesday.
An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 217 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 10,817. The new cases include:
*43 in Umatilla County
*31 in Washington County
*30 in Multnomah County
*19 in Clackamas County
*15 in Marion County
*12 in Malheur County
*10 each in Lane and Morrow counties
*9 in Yamhill County
*8 in Linn County
*5 in Jackson County
*3 each in Deschutes, Lincoln and Union counties
*2 each in Coos, Douglas, Josephine and Baker counties
*1 each in Clatsop, Columbia, Curry, Harney, Hood River, Jefferson and Wasco counties
The newly reported deaths range in age from 36 to 91. 2 were women and 2 were men. 2 were in Multnomah County with 1 each in Benton, and Marion counties. All had underlying medical conditions, according to the OHA.
OHA’s weekly report showed that during the week of June 29th to July 5th, 32,355 people were tested for COVID-19 in Oregon with 5 percent reporting a positive result. COVID-19 continued to surge that week, with 1,910 new cases. That was an increase of 51 percent over the previous week. In addition, 11 Oregonians were reported to have died, 1 fewer than the previous week.
