In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Summer Art Camps for Young Artists are underway with Umpqua Valley Arts.
Camps for youth in first through fourth grade will take place Tuesdays through Friday mornings with camps for those in fifth through eighth grade held the same days, in the afternoons. A variety of subjects are being covered over a period of seven weeks. Classes are held at the Umpqua Valley Arts Center on West Harvard in Roseburg.
To comply with COVID-19 restrictions, class sizes are smaller with time being spent between the morning and afternoon sessions for sanitization.
Classes are $100 for members of UVA and $125 for non-members. Go to www.uvarts.com for details and to get kids signed up.
UVA Interim Arts Education Director Raino Isto talked about the classes on the Morning Conversation Monday on News Radio 1230 KQEN. That interview is a KQEN Podcast at www.541radio.com.
