A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged assault on Friday night.

Information from Roseburg Police said at about 7:30 p.m. 34-year old Tyler Gunzenhauser was reported to be acting belligerent at an establishment on Southeast Stephens. After being asked to leave and refusing multiple times, the suspect allegedly punched an employee several times, causing injuries.

The report said the man then fled to a residence on Cobb Street. Officers gained consent to go into the residence and arrest Gunzenhauser who was asleep on the couch. The officers woke the man and attempted to place him into handcuffs but he resisted and wouldn’t allow officers to detain him. The man finally complied after noticing that K9 Grim was there as well.

Gunzenhauser was held for fourth degree assault, for resisting arrest and for second degree criminal trespass. He was released from custody on Monday.
