COVID-19 CLAIMS 1 NEW LIFE, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 208

COVID-19 has claimed 1 more life, with the state death toll at 208 as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 281 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 8,931. That is the highest daily case count since the beginning of the pandemic. The new cases reported include:

*48 in Washington County

*42 in Umatilla County

*38 in Multnomah County

*27 in Marion County

*20 in Clackamas County

*16 in Malheur County

*12 each in Lane and Lincoln counties

*8 in Polk County

*7 each in Jefferson, Linn, and Yamhill counties

*5 in Union County

*4 each in Deschutes, Klamath and Wasco counties

*3 each in Jackson and Baker counties

*2 each in Douglas, Benton, Morrow, Tillamook, Lake and Wallowa counties

*1 each in Clatsop and Columbia counties

Douglas County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the new cases reported by OHA were previously reported by the Douglas Public Health Network.

Oregon’s 208th COVID-19 death is a 91-year old woman in Marion County who tested positive on June 18th and died on June 29th. Her place of death is being confirmed. She had underlying medical conditions, according to the OHA.
