A woman who was found deceased in the South Umpqua River on Monday, has been identified.

A release from the Roseburg Police said she was 32-year old Tazia May.

Monday morning her body was located floating face down in the river, just west of Micelli Park near downtown. Emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded to a citizen report. Staff with Douglas County Fire District No.2 recovered the body with their boat.

Monday’s report said May was found fully clothed and there were no obvious signs of external physical injury. It said there was nothing to indicate foul play was involved.

The investigation into the death is ongoing.
