There is 1 new confirmed case of COVID-19 in Douglas County as of Tuesday.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of confirmed positive cases is now at 40. Of those cases, 8 people are in isolation. There are also 2 presumptive cases. 1 person remains hospitalized and there have been zero deaths. 4,926 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the county.

The release said previously the Douglas Public Health Network used the Oregon Health Authority definition for recovered, that considered people recovered if they were 10 days from the onset and symptoms were improving. It said as more is learned about COVID-19, the classical definition of recovery is evolving. Due to the evolving nature of the definition, DPHN has removed the column in its chart listing recovered cases.
