STATE PARK SYSTEM IS SLOWLY REOPENING, SOME PARKS REMAIN CLOSED

The Oregon Parks and Recreation system is slowing reopening some parks while others will remain closed through at least Labor Day.

A release said the department is experiencing reduced levels of service due to a $22 million budget gap. Parks that remain closed include the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park in Douglas County. The release said those going to state parks should wear face coverings, and bring hand sanitizer, trash bags, water, snacks and toilet paper with them.
