A Riddle man was jailed for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday morning.
A DCSO report said just after 5:30 a.m. a victim reported that their vehicle had been stolen and the owner was following it in another vehicle. The report said the driver ended up bailing out of the pickup and took off running in the 200 block of Pruner Road. The man, identified as 25-year old Raymond Hickey, was later located on Interstate Five, didn’t have a valid license, and was under the influence of a controlled substance according to the report.
Hickey was also charged with second degree disorderly conduct and for driving while suspended. Bail was set at $58,750.
He was released from custody on Monday.
