A Roseburg man was charged with first degree assault on Sunday.

A report from Roseburg Police said about 1:30 a.m. 55-year old Edward Garcia was contacted in the 700 block of Southeast Douglas. The report said the man was contacted due to a previous assault investigation in which he had allegedly struck a victim in the head with a baseball bat.

Bail was set at $375,000.
