COVID-19 has claimed 1 more life, with the state death toll at 189 as of Saturday.
An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 178 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 6,750. The new confirmed and presumptive cases include:
*37 in Washington County
*34 in Multnomah County
*30 in Marion County
*23 in Lincoln County
*19 in Clackamas County
*6 in Malheur County
*4 each in Klamath, Umatilla and Wasco counties
*3 in Coos County
*2 each in Lane, Benton, Jackson, Union and Wallowa counties
*1 each in Douglas, Jefferson, Linn, and Morrow counties
Douglas County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the local case reported by OHA Saturday, is the one reported locally on Friday.
Oregon’s 189 COVID-19 death is a 53-year old man in Morrow County, who tested positive on June 12th and died on June 18th at his residence. He had underlying medical conditions according to the OHA.
OHA’s weekly testing report shows that 27,671 tests were reported during the week ending June 19th. Oregon’s cumulative positive testing rate is 3.3 percent of tests performed, which is considerably lower than the national average of 10 percent.
