Umpqua Actors Community Theatre is excited to start offering live theatre again.

Executive Director Melody Schwegel said the non-profit is putting together smaller shows to accommodate a smaller venue. Under Phase 2 guidance, they can have up to 50 people in their auditorium, but with social distancing, the numbers will be cut further to accommodate six feet between parties.

The first production is “The Bright Lights of Broadway” starring Ashley Chitwood. It will play June 18th through June 28th, Thursday through Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. with Sunday matinee’s at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 and must be reserved by calling 673-2125.

Schwegel said more productions are in the process of being put together.

Melody Schwegel was on the Morning Conversation Wednesday on News Radio 1240 KQEN. That interview is a KQEN podcast at www.541radio.com.
