COVID-19 CLAIMS 1 MORE LIVE, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 183 AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 1 more life, with the state death toll at 183 as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 122 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 6,218. The new and confirmed cases include:

*34 in Multnomah County

*22 in Washington County

*17 each in Clackamas and Marion counties

*12 in Umatilla County

*3 each in Benton, Klamath and Lincoln counties

*2 each in Deschutes, Jackson, Josephine, and Union counties

*1 each in Lake, Morrow and Polk counties

Oregon’s 183rd COVID-19 death is a 95-year old woman in Clackamas County, who tested positive on June 4th and died on June 11th. Her place of death is being confirmed. She had underlying medical conditions, according to the OHA.

The update said OHA has released its COVID-19 Weekly Report, which outlines data and trends on outbreaks and other information collected over the past week. The report shows that during the week from Monday June 8th through Sunday June 14th, OHA recorded 898 new cases of COVID-19 infection. That’s a 44 percent increase over the previous week. During the same week, the number of people tested increased by 35 percent.
