Crews with Douglas County Fire District No. 2 dealt with a reported structure fire at the Del Ray Café in Winchester on Sunday.
A release said the fire was reported at 1:50 p.m. at the restaurant on North East Stephens.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the roof vent of the structure. Crews entered the evacuated building to find the grease fire on the underside of a cook top. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire using a fire extinguisher. No extension of the fire was found after searching the surrounding area. Most of the smoke was pulled from the building, resulting in little to no smoke damage, according to information from Douglas County Fire District No. 2.
