Greater Douglas United Way has announced two additional grants from the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
Glide Helping Hands and FISH of Roseburg are each set to receive $5,000.
A release said both organizations are continuing to focus on providing food security for residents of the community.
Kim Jasper of FISH said the funds will be used directly to ensure that each client’s food needs are met, while maintaining a safe environment. Nancy Kreger of Helping Hands said they are currently giving out three to four times as much food as they normally do, due to the pandemic.
Those who are interested in being part of this fundraising effort, can make donations online at: www.gduway.org. Checks can be sent to United Way at 702 Southeast Jackson, Roseburg, 97470. Donations can also be taken to any branch of Banner Bank in Douglas County.
The local United Way has raised over $60,000 for the fund and so far, has given approximately $35,000 back to organizations in the community.
