BLM ROSEBURG DISTRICT ACCEPTING OVERNIGHT RESERVATIONS

June 11, 2020 3:30 a.m.
With the lifting of public health and safety restrictions enacted by local, county and state officials, staff with the Bureau of Land Management has announced that Susan Creek campground and Tyee campground has reopened for overnight stays, with reservations.
Reservations at Susan Creek and at Tyee can be made using these links:
Susan Creek: https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251351
Tyee: https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251353
A release said the BLM is working agency-wide with federal, state, and local public health authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and using a phased approach to increase access on a case-by-case basis. In order to limit cash transactions and improve site management, all sites must be reserved through www.recreation.gov. The release said visitors can bring their own firewood for use in approved fire rings, as firewood is not available for purchase at this time.
Other developed recreational facilities, including reservable group and day use pavilions, remain closed at this time, pending further State guidance on the permitted size of the gatherings.
The release said staff is working with the Department of the Interior to follow CDC guidelines to ensure public and employee spaces are safe and clean for visitors, employees, partners and volunteers. When recreating, the public should follow local area health orders, practice Leave No Trace principles, and social distancing, and avoid high-risk outdoor activities.
