Greater Douglas United Way has announced that $5,000 has been granted to Douglas C.A.R.E.S. from the agency’s COVID-19 Response Fund.
Mike Nores of CARES said that the funds will be directly used on providing services and programs, caring for the most vulnerable in the community.
United Way Executive Director Bryan Trenkle said the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund has been established to help the local community with urgent needs as a result of the pandemic. 100% of all funds raised will stay local. To date over $50,000 has been raised and with the recent disbursement, $25,000 has been given out to the community.
Donations can be made online at www.gduway.org. Checks can be mailed to 702 Southeast Jackson in Roseburg, 97470. Donations can also be made at any branch of Banner Bank in Douglas County.
