A Sutherlin man was cited for reckless driving after the license plate for his vehicle was left at the scene of an accident.
A report from Oregon State Police said Thursday morning just after 6:30 a.m. witnesses reported that a southbound vehicle came up behind them at a high rate of speed about a mile south of Winchester, lost control and spun around, narrowly missing their vehicle. The report said the vehicle then struck the center divider and came to rest on the side of the road.
Responding units were unable to locate the vehicle, but did find the license plate to it. The vehicle was found abandoned minutes later, parked at a closed business in Roseburg. The report said there was minor damage to the front of the vehicle. The driver was later interviewed and then given a citation.
