WOMAN JAILED FOR BURGLARY AND THEFT

Sutherlin Police have arrested a 36-year old woman on burglary and theft charges following an incident at a church.
Captain Kurt Sorenson told News Radio 1240 KQEN that sometime Thursday night or early Friday morning, Angela Wells allegedly broke into Calapooia Free Methodist Church on Church Road and caused a lot of damage inside.
He said the woman reportedly took some food and small items for her own use. She then allegedly stole a riding lawn mower which was recovered about a half mile away after the woman got it stuck. Sorenson said Wells acted alone during the incident.
She was arrested Saturday afternoon at about 3:40 p.m. Charges include two counts of first-degree burglary, first-degree counts of theft and criminal mischief and for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bail was set at $250,000.
