A Roseburg man was jailed for escape and other counts on Saturday.
A report from Roseburg Police said at about 11:20 p.m. an officer contacted 31-year old Justin Kerfoot in the Taco Bell drive through on Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard, knowing he had a warrant out for his arrest.
The report said the suspect allegedly rode away on his bike. The officer was able to catch up to him a short time later. The suspect still didn’t stop despite the officer giving verbal commands and activating the overhead lights on the patrol car. The report said Kerfoot eventually ditched the bike on the bike path in Gaddis Park, and ran down the bank towards a creek. He was located a short time later and taken into custody.
Kerfoot was also charged with interfering with a police officer and menacing in addition to the other charges. He was initially detained without bail.
