WOMAN JAILED AFTER POLICE CHASE, VEHICLE CRASH

A woman was jailed after a series of events including a police chase and a vehicle crash on Friday morning.
A report from the Oregon State Police said just after 9:30 a.m. troopers located a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit and run crash on Interstate Five south of Cottage Grove. Troopers spotted the vehicle headed south at a high rate of speed in the Rice Hill area and attempted to make contact. Scanner traffic indicated the car was going at over 100 miles an hour. A pursuit ensued and ended two miles south of Sutherlin when the suspect vehicle rolled.
The report said a female suspect was non-compliant and had to be tased and removed from the vehicle. 26-year old Micaela Horning was charged with attempting to elude police, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and for resisting arrest. Bail was initially set at $68,750.
