Oregon Governor Kate Brown has ordered all flags at public institutions to be flown at half-staff on Monday, when the family of State Representative Mitch Greenlick will honor his life and family.
Greenlick died on Saturday. The Democrat represented House District Number 33 which includes communities in northwest Portland and unincorporated areas in Multnomah and Washington counties.
Brown said Greenlick “dedicated his career to fighting for Oregonians to have a better life”. Brown described him as “a fierce advocate for expanding health care” who championed initiatives including extending the Oregon Health Plan for low income and underserved communities.
Greenlick was 85 years of age.
