MAN JAILED FOR ALLEGEDLY INITIATING FALSE REPORT

A Roseburg man was jailed after allegedly initiating a false report on Thursday.
A report from the Roseburg Police said at 12:45 p.m. 37-year old Dwight Simpson called his wife and told her that she shot himself, which prompted a large police response. The report said the man had not shot himself and everything he reported was false. He was detained near the corner of Oswego and Denver.
Charges included second degree disorderly conduct and harassment as well. Bail was set at $12,500.
