A railroad crossing and a section of Old Highway 99N will be closed for most of Monday and Tuesday.
Staff with the Douglas County Public Works Department in conjunction with Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad will be working on a railroad crossing project on the highway about 1.3 miles south of Sutherlin from 7:00 a.m. Monday through 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The project will include the replacement of existing rail ties, the releveling of the tracks and adjacent road approach paving.
The work requires closing Old Highway 99N where the road intersects with the railroad tracks. Southbound motorists are asked to detour from Hastings Avenue to Taylor Street to Comstock Road in Sutherlin. Likewise, northbound traffic is asked to detour utilizing Comstock Road in Sutherlin.
Reader boards and barricades with road closed signs will notify drivers of the closures.
