A Roseburg restaurant remains open despite the current ban on dine-in restaurant service in Oregon.
Casey’s Restaurant on Garden Valley Boulevard has been open since Tuesday. A post on its Facebook page, said seating is limited and take-out orders are still available. The post said “we are taking all of the safety and health precautions that Gov. Kate Brown has set for our state, in order to keep our staff, customers and citizens safe”. The post said they had received a visit from Roseburg’s Police Chief, who reminded them of the Governor’s orders.
Governor Kate Brown’s Stay Home, Save Lives Executive Order included a provision banning dine-in service in restaurants as of March 23rd. On Thursday, the Governor announced plans to allow the reopening of additional business sectors as early as next Friday. Under Phase 1, restaurants and bars are again allowed to have sit-down service if they can follow social distancing guidelines and other safety protocols. That is only in counties that Governor Brown approves to be in Phase 1, based on their meeting a series of prerequisites.
