A Roseburg man was taken into custody, charged with second degree disorderly conduct, following an incident on Friday night.
A report from Roseburg Police said at 5:00 p.m. multiple motorists reported that the 40-year old suspect was screaming, getting into the roadway, and slapping cars as they passed, in the 1100 block of Garden Valley Boulevard.
The report said the man was arguing with a bicyclist when he was contacted and was holding a large knife, while his shopping cart blocked the eastbound lanes of the road. The report said the man was extremely agitated and in a psychotic state of mind. He took off running, darting in and out of traffic when officers confronted him. The man reportedly refused to stop as he darted toward a group of people waiting to order food at Panda Express.
The report said due to his volatile behavior and potential threat to bystanders, a taser was deployed and the man was taken to jail.
