Ballots are arriving for the May Primary Election in Douglas County.
A release from the Douglas County Clerk’s Office said in light of the orders for the coronavirus pandemic, voters are encouraged to use the new postage free option for returning their ballot. Due to legislation passed in 2019, a stamp is no longer needed to mail the ballot in. Ballots should be mailed by May 13th to ensure they are returned to the courthouse by the May 19th deadline.
Due to the pandemic, some drop box sites have changed. They include:
*City halls in Sutherlin, Myrtle Creek, Winston, and in Glendale.
*The library book-drop at the city halls in Canyonville and Riddle
*The utility payment-slot at city halls in Drain and Yoncalla
*The administration building drop-slot at Umpqua Community College
*The Douglas County Annex in Reedsport
*The east parking lot at the Roseburg Public Library
*The front lawn of the Douglas County Courthouse
Ballots can also be taken to the Clerk’s office inside the courthouse.
Douglas County Clerk Dan Loomis said voters that have not received their ballot by this Friday, should contact the Clerk’s Office.
