There are 65 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Oregon, 14 new presumptive cases, with no new deaths reported on Monday.
An update from the Oregon Healthy Authority said that brings the state’s total of COVID-19 cases to 2,759.
The new confirmed and presumptive cases include:
*17 in Marion County
*15 in Multnomah County
*10 in Linn County
*8 in Polk County
*6 in Umatilla County
*2 in Coos County
*1 each in Hood River, Jefferson, Lane, Clatsop, Deschutes, and Yamhill counties
OHA is now including presumptive cases in its daily reports, consistent with recently amended guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A presumptive case is someone who does not have a positive PCR test, a “Polymerase Chain Reaction” that confirms if a person has COVID-19, but is showing symptoms and has had close contact with a confirmed case. The OHA update said if they later test positive by PCR, those will recategorized as confirmed cases.
