UNITED WAY ANNOUNCES SHAVE IT OR SAVE IT COMPETITION

April 30, 2020 4:00 a.m.
With the cooperation of one of the area’s most recognizable local leaders, Greater Douglas United Way has launched the “Shave It or Save It” competition to raise awareness for the recently opened COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
Executive Director Bryan Trenkle said Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer has been a pediatrician in the county for over 30 years and has served the community in a wide variety of ways. Most recently he has become the face of the health community with Facebook Live updates, and other media appearances, talking about COVID-19.
Trenkle said Dr. Bob is instantly recognizable with “his big smile, calm demeanor and amazing paintbrush moustache”. Dannenhoffer has offered the fate of his moustache to the competition.
Through May 31st, donors can cast their votes for #Saveit or #Shaveit through $5 donations to the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. To help out follow the links at www.gduway.org.
Contributions generated by the fund will go to basic needs through local non-profits for people adversely affected by COVID-19.
