TRANSIENT CAMP FIRE UNDER STEWART PARKWAY BRIDGE MONDAY NIGHT

A fire under the Stewart Parkway Bridge brought out crews from the Roseburg Fire Department on Monday night.

The fire was reported shortly before 7:00 p.m. with smoke visible around the west side of the city. News Radio 1240 KQEN was on the scene where a large pile of trash and debris was burning in a transient camp. Roseburg Police said there could have been either propane or ammunition in the fire, but not had not confirmed it.

Stewart Parkway was closed for a time while crews quickly put the fire out.
Roseburg Fire officials said the cause of the fire is unknown.
