A Roseburg man was cited after trying to fight with police officers on Monday afternoon.
Information from Roseburg Police said at about 3:00 p.m. the 26-year old was contacted in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson. He had allegedly stolen merchandise from Walmart the previous day. After being detained the report said the man tried running away but was quickly stopped. After allegedly trying to fight, he was put in a patrol car with no further problems.
The man was cited for resisting arrest, interfering with police and for third degree counts of theft and escape. He was released after being cited.
