A Sutherlin man was hospitalized after a motorcycle crash on Saturday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at around 3:00 p.m. the accident was reported up Boomer Hill Road.
A deputy found the 27-year old man about 900 feet down an embankment. The report said he was conscious but confused and had an obvious compound fracture of his right femur. He was complaining of right arm pain.
Witnesses said a group was riding up and down the hill when the man lost control, and slid about 400 feet down the hill, ultimately dumping his bike and falling the last 40 feet. They said the victim had hit his head and had lost consciousness.
Medical staff was able to hoist him up the hill with a rope. Reach Air transported him to Rogue Valley Medical. His condition was unknown at that time.
