An arrest has been made in a fatal hit and run case from earlier this year.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said on January 15th a vehicle struck 46-year old Bruce Galindo of Roseburg, while he was in a motorized scooter in the 5000 block of Northeast Stephens, near the Buckaroo Barn. The victim succumbed to his injuries two days later.
O’Dell said the day after the accident, 53-year old Hedge Jarvis, through his attorney, contacted DCSO and said he was driving the vehicle that hit Galindo.
O’Dell said the investigation into the incident has been completed and Jarvis was arrested on Thursday and jailed for failure to perform the duties of a driver to an injured person. The charge is a Class B felony. Jarvis was initially detained on $100,000 bail.
