A Winston man was jailed after a stabbing and a standoff with police on Sunday.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 5:00 a.m. deputies responded to a disturbance in the 5,000 block of Rice Creek Road. O’Dell said a man reported that he had an altercation with 65-year old Sabre Eddings and was stabbed on the forearm by the suspect.
O’Dell said Eddings had locked himself in his trailer prior to deputies arriving. He refused to come out of the trailer and threatened to blow up the trailer with propane if deputies approached.
The Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiations Team responded to the scene and started talking with Eddings. After several hours, the man came out of his trailer and was taken into custody without further incident.
Eddings was charged with second degree assault, menacing and for unlawful use of a weapon. He was initially detained on $306,250 bail.
