Teachers from Fir Grove Elementary School in Roseburg traveled to greet students from a distance Friday afternoon.
Principal Lisa Dickover told News Radio 1240 KQEN that staff asked if they could parade through student’s neighborhoods. Dickover said there was an overwhelming amount of support for the idea, so they decided to break into three groups. That way teachers could travel down the streets of students who walk to school, and to the two areas that students are bused from. Dickover said each group had 11 cars in it.
Thursday afternoon an All Call was sent to families to inform them of what time the parade would begin.

Teachers left the school parking lot at 2:00 p.m. Some vehicles were decorated with signs and teachers waved and honked as they passed by student’s homes. Dickover said the parade was a great time for the staff, and she hopes it was fun for students, families and community members.
