Aviva Health has received nearly $741,000 in a second round of funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to offset costs associated with the health center’s response to the COVID-19 emergency.
Last month, Aviva announced it was awarded just over $60,000 by HHS for the same purpose.
A release from Aviva said it was part of a nationwide funding stream of $1.3 billion to support health centers across the country to address screening and testing needs, acquire medical supplies, and boost telehealth capacity in response to the worldwide pandemic.
Acting Aviva Health CEO Edward Larsen said “our efforts to address the unique needs of the community during the COVID-19 crisis are paying off”. He said he is quietly optimistic the steps the organization has taken, combined with its health partners and the community at large, will continue to keep to a minimum the number of COVID-19 cases in Douglas County.
Aviva has a Respiratory Clinic and Telehealth Services available. Call 672-9596 for more information.
