Greater Douglas United Way has announced that they granted $5,000 to Peace at Home Advocacy Center, formerly known as Battered Person’s Advocacy, from their COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
Executive Director Bryan Trenkle said United Way knows that Peace at Home has seen an increase in barriers to relocate people battling domestic abuse, and an increased need for securing food for their residents.
A release said the fund was established to help the local community with urgent needs that result from the COVID-19 pandemic. 100% of all funds raised will stay local. To date, over $50,000 has been raised and with the recent disbursement, $25,000 has been given out.
Those who want to help can mail a check to United Way at 702 Southeast Jackson in Roseburg, 97470. Donations can also be made at any branch of Banner Bank in Douglas County. They can also be made online at the United Way website: www.gduway.org.
United Way will not charge any administrative expense on the fund.
