The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has details about the type of cloth face masks that they are recommending that Americans wear.
A CDC release suggests wearing the masks in grocery stores, pharmacies and other public places where it can be difficult to maintain a safe distance from others.
The release said cloth face masks should fit snugly against the side of the face, be secured with ties or ear loops, include multiple layers of fabric, allow for breathing room without restriction and be able to be washed and machine-dried without damage.
