A shop containing a vehicle, tools and car parts, suffered major damage in a fire on Friday night, on Cleveland Rapids Road, northwest of Roseburg.
Battalion Chief Josh Waechter of Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said firefighters responded to the fire at about 10:30 p.m. The fire was initially reported to be a shed fire, but was actually a large shop, about 35 feet by 50 feet in size. Waechter said crews initially worked to protect several exposures nearby which included other out buildings and vehicles.
Waechter said firefighters were able to knock down a majority of the fire with an initial attack using multiple hose lines. He said the vehicle was a loss.
11 personnel responded to the incident. Crews were unable to determine what caused the fire.
