In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
The Umpqua Actors Community Theatre can’t provide in-theatre performances due to current COVID-19 restrictions, but Executive Director Melody Schwegel said they have found a way to make sure “the show must go on”.
Schwegel said 11 people have been filmed reading short children’s books. Each day at 12:00 p.m. a new episode of “Storytellers Theatre” is released on the UACT Facebook page. The readings began over a week ago, with the final episode being released this Saturday. Prior stories can be viewed at any time.
Those reading stories range in age from ages 9 to 65. Many are UACT actors or are otherwise involved in the arts community in some way.
The list of those reading stores is posted with this story at www.541radio.com
