An older trailer was destroyed in a fire on Thursday afternoon.
Fire Marshal Monte Bryan of the Roseburg Fire Department said firefighters were sent to the home in the 1800 block of Northwest Goetz, just north of Garden Valley Boulevard, at around 2:30 p.m.

Bryan said crews arrived on the scene to find smoke showing from both the north and south sides of the single wide trailer. He said firefighters made a quick interior attack to extinguish the fire, conducted a primary and secondary search, and completed overhaul.

Bryan said the fire damage was contained to the room where the fire originated although the trailer sustained smoke and thermal damage throughout. The trailer was unoccupied at the time of the fire. One adult was displaced due to the fire.
A fire investigator was on the scene and determined the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. Bryan said it was most likely caused by combustibles too close to a space heater.
