Staff with the City of Roseburg will help with an inspection of the Stewart Park Drive Bridge this Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Communications Specialist Eric Johnson said the bridge will be closed to vehicle and foot traffic during that time.
Johnson said the Stewart Park Drive Bridge is inspected annually which is a requirement of the Oregon Department of Transportation. During the inspection, ODOT contractors will check the bridge deck, superstructure, and substructure conditions to ensure they comply with State requirements.
Johnson said the bridge serves as the south entrance to the Roseburg VA Health Care System. Northbound traffic into the VA will be routed to Stewart Parkway then through the park to the south VA entrance. Detour signs will be posted, and flaggers will direct traffic during the closure.
