The Douglas County Commissioners are seeking people to serve on the Planning Commission.
An update said the commission is a seven-member advisory and decision-making body. Members represent differing interests, geographic areas and occupations. The term of appointment is four-years. The recruitment will give priority to applicants who can represent the northern part of the county.
The update said the Planning Commission advises the Commissioners on land use program activities, serves as the appeal body for contested land use decisions and conducts hearings on discretionary land use actions.
Citizens interested in being considered for the Planning Commission should submit an application to the Board of Commissioners or Planning Department by April 10th. Due to the closure of the Courthouse because of COVID-19 measures, applicants can request an electronic application via email: commissioners@co.douglas.or.us. Further information is available by contacting the Planning Department at 440-4289.
