There are 2 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Douglas County as of Tuesday.
Information from the Douglas Public Health Network said that brings the total number of confirmed cases to 10.
DPHN has launched their epidemiology investigation related to the new cases, identifying who the individuals may have had contact with. Identifying information about the newest cases is not being released at this time. Close contacts of confirmed cases will be notified by public health.
Along with the 10 positive cases, there have been 252 negative tests, 5 hospitalizations with 2 who remain hospitalized, zero deaths and zero recovered from COVID-19 in Douglas County.
Results have been returned from the first 3 DPHN sponsored drive-through testing clinics. DPHN has tested 134 residents for COVID-19 over 4 drive-through clinics. There have been 3 positive tests from the drive-through clinics so far. COVID-19 testing is also being completed by private clinics and providers. Currently all COVID-19 testing in Douglas County has to be initiated by a health care provider.
County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said DPHN is working around the clock to investigate the positive local cases of COVID-19. He said there are currently no hotspots in the county, as cases are spread around the county. He said “the best action for everyone to do is to stay home and maintain social distancing to reduce your exposure”.
The COVID-19 hotline is taking calls daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The number is 464-6550.
